Presenter Dec Donnelly was captured enjoying a birthday gift from Ant McPartlin before agreeing to pass it on to his friend’s wife in a video shared recently. Dec received the gift ahead of his 50th birthday today.
Celebrating his milestone 50th birthday, Dec is currently abroad in South Africa filming the new season of I’m A Celebrity … South Africa alongside his presenting partner Ant, who is 49. The announcement of a second series of the I’m A Celebrity spin-off was made earlier this month, and they have been in South Africa since then.
Ant took to Instagram this morning to wish Dec a happy birthday, posting on their joint account: “Happy Birthday to the littler one from the only slightly bigger one. Love ya!” A video of Ant presenting Dec with gifts has since been shared.
In the video, Dec received two personalized t-shirts, one featuring photos of his dog Rocky, and the other adorned with images of Ant. Dec playfully mentioned that the second t-shirt would likely end up with Ant’s wife, Anne-Marie Corbett.
Ant, in the video, hinted at Dec’s “big birthday” without revealing the specific number, presenting him with the gifts wrapped in dog-themed paper. Ant went on to unveil the first t-shirt featuring ‘Rocky’ and various photos of Dec’s dog, to which Dec responded with laughter and appreciation.
Expecting a t-shirt with photos of his children, Dec was surprised to find a t-shirt with ‘Anthony’ and photos of Ant on it. Ant humorously remarked that this would prevent confusion between them in the future.
The light-hearted exchange continued as Dec acknowledged the gift and opted to hold up the t-shirt featuring Rocky instead. Ant jokingly offered the t-shirt to Dec’s wife, to which Dec responded positively.
