A medical professional has highlighted three important early indicators that could suggest an impending stroke. These warning signs might manifest days before the more recognizable stroke symptoms become evident.
Dr. Eric Berg DC, a renowned expert in healthy ketosis and intermittent fasting and the author of ‘The Healthy Keto Plan,’ shared this advice on his popular TikTok page, where he boasts a following of 2.1 million users.
In a video titled “Early Warning Signs of a Stroke,” Dr. Berg emphasized that these three early signs are distinct from the clear indications that a stroke has occurred, such as facial drooping, loss of limb function, or slurred speech.
He explained that before a stroke, individuals may experience heightened pressure in the brain leading to severe headaches. This pressure may also cause feelings of nausea or persistent hiccups. Additionally, chest pain unrelated to a heart attack could signify a clot forming in an artery, obstructing oxygen flow to the heart.
Dr. Berg stressed the importance of maintaining a diet low in sugar and starch to reduce stroke risk. The main symptoms of a stroke often occur suddenly and can be remembered using the acronym FAST: face, arms, speech, and time to call emergency services.
The NHS also advises being alert to other potential stroke signs and emphasizes the need for immediate medical attention even if symptoms appear to resolve quickly. While strokes are more common in older individuals, they can affect anyone regardless of age.
