The Loch Ness Monster mystery has been hit with a bombshell update as a woman claimed she captured footage of the beast blowing bubbles just below the surface of the infamous body of water. Shocked Annette Harkins claims she caught the monster’s hump rising up above the water’s surface, on video.
Annette snapped the dramatic footage while near Urquhart Castle, on the banks of the loch, after she claimed to have first spotted Nessie with her binoculars during clear conditions. The startled woman described initially spotting a dark grey shape lurking beneath the surface while rising bubbles caught her attention.
Annette claimed Nessie briefly surfaced before quickly submerging back into the loch just seconds later. She said: “I was using binoculars at first for a short time, and I saw the waves change, so I kept looking. I saw a few bubbles that caught my attention. Then I saw a grey, dark shape.”
She explained what made her pull out her device and snap a quick shot of the infamous water. Annette added: “It was moving, so I took my mobile out. Then it went underwater and did not re-emerge.”
The dramatic moment was caught on March 2, but the bombshell details have just come to light as Annette recently submitted her sighting to the Loch Ness Centre.
A spokesperson for the group said the witness was standing on the shore when she snapped her image. They said: “The observer, initially using binoculars, described a dark grey shape lurking beneath the surface water, blowing bubbles. Then, briefly surfacing above the water before quickly submerging seconds later.
“The observer was able to capture a picture following several disturbances in the water before whatever was lurking quickly disappeared.”
Annette has not been the only person to claim they have recently captured footage of the mythical beast. A witness at Dores Beach in the Highlands caught a shape just beneath the lake’s surface, which they said was “part of the body” of legendary Nessie.
This person claimed they saw the shape for a few minutes before it quickly disappeared. The Loch Ness Centre reviewed the surprising image and said it was the first potential sighting it has been made aware of this year.
The general manager at the centre, Nagina Ishaq, said: “We’ve had numerous observations over the years, but this recent sighting has been particularly captivating. The conditions on the day of this sighting were absolutely perfect.
“This could very well be our first significant sighting of the year, further fuelling the mystery surrounding Loch Ness and its most famous resident.”
Nagina added: “As always, we are committed to solving the mystery of Nessie once and for all. Our previous collaborations with the University of Aberdeen and Loch Ness Exploration allowed us to advance our research efforts significantly, and this potential sighting is a reminder that the mystery of Loch Ness is far from.”
