A state governor has issued a warning that the United States under the leadership of President Donald Trump is close to a state of “martial law,” as more states prepare for potential military intervention.

President Trump indicated his willingness to use the “insurrection act” to override Democrat governors who resist his attempts to deploy the military in their states.

Recent legal rulings have blocked Trump from sending National Guard troops from California to Oregon, with a judge preventing such actions in both instances within 24 hours.

Despite Trump’s assertions of widespread chaos in Portland, Oregon, there is no significant or ongoing unrest in the city, contradicting White House claims of violence against federal immigration authorities and a takeover by left-wing extremists.

The potential invocation of the Insurrection Act would grant the President the authority to deploy military personnel within the country or utilize state National Guard units to address what he perceives as a rebellion.

Critics, including pro-democracy groups, have strongly condemned the idea of using military forces to suppress peaceful protests against the President’s policies.

In response to Trump’s plans, Governor JB Pritzker of Illinois expressed disapproval of the deployment of Texas National Guard members to his state without consultation, labeling the situation as “Trump’s Invasion.”

While Pritzker called for the withdrawal of Texas troops, Governor Greg Abbott supported Trump’s actions, emphasizing the need to ensure the safety of federal officials.

The escalating tensions between federal and state authorities have sparked debates on the legality and necessity of deploying military forces within US borders, prompting calls for public engagement to halt what some perceive as an overreach of executive power.

In a separate development, California Governor Gavin Newsom emphasized the fundamental principle that states should not invade each other, highlighting concerns over the current state of affairs in the country.
