Priscilla Presley has shared details about her initial intimate experience with Elvis Presley. In September 13, 1959, when Priscilla was just 14 years old, she met the 24-year-old Elvis at a party in his rented villa in West Germany during his military service.
Reportedly, Elvis felt uneasy and self-conscious in Priscilla’s presence during their first encounter when she was in ninth grade. Despite the age gap, their bond grew strong until Elvis departed Germany in March 1960. They maintained communication and reunited in person in 1962 after Priscilla’s parents permitted her to visit Elvis in Los Angeles for a fortnight.
Their reunion had strict stipulations – Elvis had to arrange a first-class round trip, Priscilla had to be chaperoned at all times, and she had to write to her parents daily. A year later, just two months before turning 18, Priscilla was allowed to move to Memphis permanently.
Priscilla, who attended the Immaculate Conception Cathedral School and resided near Elvis’ Graceland home, eventually moved in with him in May 1963 after he agreed to marry her. In her revealing memoir, “Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis,” Priscilla disclosed that their relationship turned romantic when she was 17, and they waited until she was 21 to consummate it.
During their time together, rumors of Elvis’ infidelity circulated, but Priscilla chose to trust him and overlook the gossip. In her memoir, she described the challenges of their marriage, highlighting Elvis’ expectations of her constant beauty and submissiveness.
Priscilla candidly discussed the strains in their relationship, attributing its breakdown partly to external influences, notably Mike Stone. She recounted an intense and unsettling encounter with Elvis that left her emotionally scarred, marking a significant turning point in their intimacy.
