The main suspect linked to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann was observed donning a fake beard to conceal his identity.
Christian Brueckner was sighted wearing this disguise while strolling in the German town where he has resided since his recent release from prison. He utilized the beard to obscure his face when seeking food at a pizza establishment around 9 pm on Friday, claiming to the staff that he was just released from jail and lacked funds to pay.
According to a witness who spoke to the Mirror, “He was wearing a false beard, yet remained recognizable. The beard was lengthy and crafted from a synthetic material. It had a brownish hue, distinct from his natural hair color. It was evidently not authentic .”
The witness indicated that Brueckner, gesturing to his chest, inquired about free pizza or leftovers, stating, “I’ve just been released from prison and I’m really hungry.” The peculiar request was declined by the staff, who found his appearance reminiscent of a stray animal. The witness mentioned that Brueckner revisited the shop around 5 pm on Sunday, this time without the fake beard.
In an earlier exclusive interview with the Mirror this year, Brueckner’s attorney Philipp Marquort discussed the possibility of his client using disguises. Marquort stated, “We briefly discussed altering his appearance to prevent recognition. Due to financial constraints, he currently resorts to acquiring minor disguises like fake mustaches, sunglasses, or hats. However, I would advise him to consider more drastic changes like plastic surgery in the future.”
Reports suggest that Brueckner’s cover in his new undisclosed location was blown when he entered a store at the main train station, causing women inside to scream upon recognizing him.
Previously residing in a rundown farmhouse near Praia da Luz during Madeleine’s disappearance in 2007, Brueckner is now accommodated in a private flat provided by the German authorities.
Recent reports by the Mirror revealed that he was relocated to emergency housing in the city after declaring himself homeless. Initially placed in a shelter, he was swiftly moved to alternative accommodation due to safety concerns.
Brueckner was observed leaving Sehnde prison near Hanover before heading to a nearby McDonald’s, situated close to a store selling baby and toddler attire.
As a condition of his release, he is obligated to wear an ankle monitor for five years and
