Former England captain Michael Vaughan has emphasized the importance of England getting more cricket practice before the Second Test following their swift defeat in Perth at the start of the Ashes series.

Concerns had been raised prior to The Ashes about the England team’s lack of adequate preparation for the challenging Test series in Australia, sparking disagreements between former players and the current squad.

With Australia taking the lead in the five-match series, Vaughan suggests that several England players need more match experience with a significant gap of almost two weeks before the Second Test in Brisbane. He believes that the single game England played did not sufficiently ready them for the upcoming challenges, especially in terms of their batting performance.

Speaking to the BBC, Vaughan stressed the need for England to practice and play more cricket in preparation for the next match. He highlighted that England’s batters require more time at the crease to improve their skills and adapt to the conditions they will face.

Despite the setback in Perth, England’s head coach Brendon McCullum stated that they would evaluate their performance before deciding on any changes for the upcoming games. Captain Ben Stokes expressed confidence in their preparation process, emphasizing their commitment to hard work and trust in their methods.

As the team regroups, they are focused on learning from their defeat and continuing to refine their strategies for the remainder of the series.
