Former President Donald Trump reiterated his claim that he had foreseen the 9/11 terrorist attacks and could have prevented them if his warnings had been heeded. Speaking at the Navy 250 Celebration at Naval Station Norfolk, Trump asserted that he had written about Osama bin Laden a year before the World Trade Center bombing. Despite facing skepticism from the media, Trump insisted that he had urged action against bin Laden in his book, emphasizing that his foresight was not acknowledged. Contrary to his assertions, Trump did not predict the specific attack, but he did identify bin Laden as a threat to national security in his book “The America We Deserve.”

During his visit to the Navy base, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump and other officials, Trump interacted with sailors on the USS George H. W. Bush and witnessed a military demonstration involving Navy destroyers, SEALs, and fighter jets. The event showcased naval strength and skills. Meanwhile, amidst a government shutdown, Trump blamed Democrats for the situation, accusing them of disrupting the Navy’s Birthday celebrations and causing mass layoffs. Senate Democrats’ refusal to fund government operations led to concerns about health insurance costs and Medicaid reductions. Trump criticized Democrats for the potential job losses and economic impact, attributing any layoffs to their actions.

As Trump prepared to attend the Navy 250 Celebration, he emphasized the strong economy under his administration and accused Democrats of undermining progress. He labeled the job losses as “Democrat layoffs” and highlighted the success of the country’s economy, suggesting that Democrats were opposed to the positive developments. Trump’s remarks reflected his ongoing criticism of the opposition party and his stance on the economic impact of government decisions.
