Mercedes F1 team principal Toto Wolff attended London’s Lyceum Theatre instead of the Mexico City Grand Prix to support his wife, Susie, at the launch of her memoir, “Driven.” The 53-year-old’s rare absence from Formula 1 events demonstrated his dedication to Susie’s remarkable journey in motorsport.

Susie, who began racing at a young age, shared her inspiring story with over 2,000 guests at the event. Her career, which started in karting and progressed to Formula Renault and Formula 3, was marked by challenges, including an ankle injury during her Formula 3 season.

Transitioning to DTM from 2006 to 2012 and later joining Williams as a development driver, Susie made history in 2014 by becoming the first woman to participate in a Formula 1 weekend in over two decades. After retiring from racing in 2015, she became a brand ambassador for Mercedes and assumed leadership roles in Venturi Racing in Formula E and the F1 Academy.

Despite missing the Mexico City GP, Toto Wolff closely monitored his team’s performance, which saw Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli finishing sixth, with George Russell just behind. The race was won by McLaren’s Lando Norris, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen taking the other podium places.

In the Drivers’ standings, Russell is in fourth place with 258 points, trailing Norris by 99 points, while Antonelli holds the seventh spot with 97 points. Mercedes currently ranks third in the Constructors’ standings with 355 points, closely behind Ferrari. Meanwhile, McLaren leads with 713 points, secured through 13 victories and 30 podium finishes.
