An avid bargain hunter was astonished to stumble upon Donald Trump’s ‘forgotten’ Playboy cover while rummaging through items at a thrift store. Sharing the discovery on social media, the shopper described it as an “unexpected find” and also highlighted their interest in a Q&A style interview that was a “truly wild read”.
The Playboy magazine from March 1990 features an interview with Donald Trump, accompanied by articles on various topics such as ‘Rock and racism’, ‘fax ‘n’ figures’, ‘cars 1990’, and ‘world-class playmates from our far-flung empire’. In the image, a 43-year-old Trump, who later served as the 45th and 47th President of the United States, is depicted wearing a white shirt, black trousers, a black bowtie, and discreet Playboy cufflinks, standing next to a woman with long brown hair gazing at him with a broad smile.
The article inside is headlined ‘Playboy interview: Donald Trump, a candid conversation with the decade’s most flamboyant billionaire on deal making, self-promotion, world affairs and how much is enough’.
During a Q&A session about his personal life, Trump was asked by Playboy, “What is marriage to you? Is it monogamous?” Trump responded by declining to answer, stating that his marriage is a private matter and not something he discusses publicly, emphasizing the advantage of not being a politician.
Persisting with the questioning, Playboy inquired further, “But do you enjoy flirtations?” Trump replied, acknowledging that men generally appreciate flirtation and suggesting that the desire for positive responses from others is especially prevalent among successful individuals with egos.
In another part of the interview, Trump revealed his aspiration, stating, “I’ve always thought the ultimate job for me would have been running MGM in the Thirties and Forties.
“There was incredible glamour and style that’s gone now. And that’s when you could control situations.”
The shopper mentioned purchasing the magazine for $1.50 (£1.12) and noted its resale value online ranging from $100 (£74.60) to $150 (£111.90).
