Mark Labbett, known as the Beast on the ITV show, The Chase, has openly confessed his preference for watching TV over being in a relationship. The 60-year-old quizzer, who recently appeared on Celebs Go Dating in search of love post his divorce from his second cousin Katie, who is 27 years his junior, shared his contentment with being single.
Despite joining the dating show to seek advice from experts and transition from his bachelor days, Mark’s relationship with TV presenter Hayley Palmer did not endure. Following unsuccessful attempts to establish a connection on the reality program, Mark expressed his satisfaction with his solitude.
Mark emphasized his happiness in being alone, citing the freedom to pursue activities like watching sports on Sky Sports all weekend as his idea of bliss. He remarked on his lack of urgency to be in a relationship, highlighting his comfort in his current state.
Although Mark appears content with his single status, his ex Hayley criticized his remarks as “heartless,” expressing her disappointment over his comments. Hayley had previously announced their separation on social media, indicating that they had enjoyed a fulfilling year together.
Mark attributed his age as a factor in his split from Hayley, acknowledging the privilege of dating her for a year. He reflected on his preference for solitude, finding solace in factual and numerical complexities rather than the intricacies of human relationships.
