A tragic car crash involving five teenagers resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy. The incident occurred on Monday night in a rural area of Lancashire when a blue Vauxhall Corsa was in a single-vehicle collision on Jackson Heights Road, a route frequently used as a shortcut by drivers.

Emergency services quickly responded to the scene at 8:39 pm, with police, paramedics, and firefighters arriving. Sadly, the male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the four teenage passengers sustained minor injuries.

According to LancsLive, authorities reported that the car veered off the road and landed in an embankment, with the 17-year-old driver found unresponsive. Blackburn with Darwen Police confirmed the details of the crash and expressed condolences to the victim’s family. The injured teenagers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Local residents witnessed the emergency response, with one woman describing the scene as resembling a lit-up display due to the presence of emergency vehicles. She also noted that the recent crash adds to a series of accidents in the area, expressing concern over the frequency of such incidents.

Authorities are urging any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage from the time of the collision to come forward to assist in the investigation. Those with information can contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at SCIU@lancashire.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 1329 of September 22.
