Summer McIntosh claimed her first-ever gold medal at the Pan Pacific swimming competition by winning the women’s 400-metre individual medley in Irvine, Calif. She set a championship record time of 4:28.01, defeating Jenna Forrester of Australia, who took silver with a time of 4:31.50. Agostina Hein of Argentina secured the bronze with a time of 4:32.54. McIntosh expressed her satisfaction with her performance but acknowledged there is room for improvement. She mentioned that her butterfly stroke felt strong, leading to her victory for Canada.
