During the show, the 35-year-old mother of five celebrated her first-born son Zach’s 17th birthday, reflecting on the moment she discovered she was pregnant at his age and the reactions of her loved ones to her teenage pregnancy.
The BBC One series, “Stacey & Joe,” featuring the Loose Women star and her husband Joe Swash, follows the couple and their bustling lives. Stacey shares her three youngest children, daughters Rose (3) and Belle (2), and son Rex (6), with the former EastEnders actor.
Stacey, who found out she was pregnant at 17, also has Zach with her ex-boyfriend Dean Cox and 12-year-old Leighton with former fiancé Aaron Barnham.
In a recent episode of “Stacey & Joe,” the couple welcomed Dean into their home to celebrate Zach’s 17th birthday. As the blended family enjoyed a meal of fish and chips, they reminisced about the time Stacey discovered her pregnancy at the same age Zach had just reached.
When questioned about his age at the time, Dean revealed, “I was just 18.” Stacey recounted the moment when her step-mother suspected her pregnancy and how the family reacted to the news.
This episode, filmed in March but aired recently, coincided with Zach’s real birthday. Stacey shared a heartfelt tribute to her son on Instagram during the celebration.
Stacey has previously discussed the challenges she and Joe faced in blending their families. Apart from Stacey’s two older children from previous relationships, Joe has a 16-year-old son, Harry, from a previous partner.
During an interview on the Parenting Hell podcast in 2022, Stacey acknowledged the difficulties of managing a blended family and the continuous effort required to ensure everyone feels secure.
She also mentioned a recent wedding where their four eldest sons gave speeches, which brought her to tears and gave her a sense of reassurance about their blended family dynamics.
