Snooker sensation Kyren Wilson has revealed the challenging personal struggles he and his wife have faced off the snooker table. Despite being a top-ranked player at second in the world and recent wins at the World Championship and Shanghai Masters, Wilson has encountered setbacks in recent tournaments.
Apart from early exits in various snooker events, Wilson has also navigated a tough period at home while supporting his wife Sophie through her health issues. Wilson shared, “My wife has been very unwell, so I’ve had to step away from snooker for several weeks to be by her side during her recovery. Now, as she progresses, I’m gradually returning to my game, dedicating more time and focus to it.”
Acknowledging the challenges of balancing family concerns with professional commitments, Wilson expressed the difficulty of competing in China while knowing his wife was undergoing medical treatment. However, he emphasized the sacrifices necessary for success in the sport and the importance of maintaining a clear mindset.
Having been in a long-standing relationship with his wife since 2009 and married since 2016, the couple shares two children. Sophie’s health journey, including a previous stroke and recent surgery during Wilson’s competition in Wuhan, has been a significant part of their shared experiences.
Currently, participating in the Xi’an Grand Prix, Wilson’s positive momentum was evident in his recent victory over Haris Tahir in the tournament’s opening round. Notably, Wilson’s exceptional performance included a perfect 147 break against Mark Williams at a recent event, showcasing his competitive edge.
