Sky has unveiled an exciting new update that is set to capture attention. The television provider has confirmed the launch of a compelling subscription package that combines several renowned streaming services at a reduced monthly rate. Priced at just £24 per month, both new and existing customers will soon gain access to Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the highly-anticipated HBO Max app, slated for release next month.
According to Sky, this bundle offers substantial value for money, incorporating approximately £20 worth of streaming applications for a lower cost. Considering Sky’s current basic plan at £15 per month, the additional content effectively becomes available for just £9 extra.
Moreover, subscribers to the Ultimate TV plan will enjoy access to over 130 channels, including Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime, Sky History, and more.
Another perk of joining with Sky Cinema is the exclusive Disney movie channel directly added to the planner. This feature enables users to watch Disney blockbusters without having to open the Disney+ app.
Existing Disney+ subscribers who sign up through Sky can transfer their current plan, whether Standard or Premium, while retaining their profiles and viewing history.
Sky has assured that all supported apps will be conveniently accessible from the homepage with fully integrated content. This functionality allows users to discover shows and movies through voice search and save them to a Playlist for later viewing.
The new Sky Ultimate plan will be accessible across Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q platforms.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, described the update as a “new era” for Sky and NOW, uniting Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu under a single subscription. She highlighted that customers will benefit from a seamless viewing experience and exceptional value, with HBO Max being inclusive at no additional charge for NOW Entertainment customers.
Sky emphasizes that this move underscores its commitment to innovation, streamlining the process for viewers to enjoy premium entertainment in one convenient location.
Included in the update are:
– Netflix Standard with Ads
– Disney+ Standard with Ads (effective from March, date to be confirmed)
– HBO Max Basic with Ads (launching in the UK & Ireland on 26th March)
– Hayu (available from July, with select top shows accessible from March)
– PLUS: Over 130 channels from Sky
