Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” has recently gotten married to Allison Hsu, a music industry executive. The wedding took place over the weekend as confirmed by Liu’s publicist to CBC News on Tuesday. The celebrations were first reported by TMZ in France.

The couple officially started dating in late 2022 and announced their engagement via social media during a trip to Paris in May 2025. They have since shared images from wedding-related events in Mexico and a visit to Paris. Liu and Hsu have been open about their relationship on social media and in interviews, expressing mutual support and love for each other.

Liu, originally from China and raised in Toronto, is set to reprise his role as Shang-Chi in the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday.” His portrayal of the Marvel superhero has propelled him to international fame following his success on the CBC comedy “Kim’s Convenience,” where he played Jung Kim.

In addition to his Marvel role, Liu has been busy with various projects, including a role in the movie “Barbie,” voice acting in “In Your Dreams,” and starring in the spy thriller series “The Copenhagen Test.” He also made his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning comedy “Oh, Mary!” earlier this year, showcasing his theater background.

Liu has been vocal about the need for more Asian representation in leading roles in Hollywood, criticizing the industry’s traditional and conservative mindset that often overlooks new talent.
