Samsung has introduced its latest range of innovative foldable smartphones that could pose a challenge for Apple. The tech giant from Korea has unveiled three new devices, with the spotlight on the all-new Galaxy Z Fold 8 featuring a revamped design.

Unlike its predecessors, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 sports a unique “passport-style” design with a wider screen, offering a more tablet-like experience when unfolded. The 7.6-inch display is perfect for activities like streaming movies, binge-watching shows, and gaming on the move.

The launch holds significance as Apple is anticipated to reveal its first foldable iPhone later this year, possibly with a similar design. Samsung’s early adoption of this new form factor gives it an edge over its rival.

Apart from design, Samsung is making strides in other areas with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 being the thinnest and lightest Fold yet, weighing just 180g. It boasts an enhanced hinge for durability and a lower risk of damage over time.

The device features Vision Booster technology and an anti-reflective coating on the expanded display for better visibility outdoors. Powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and a 4,800mAh battery, the phone charges rapidly, reaching 63% in just half an hour.

Equipped with a dual-camera setup, Gorilla Glass protection, and Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI tools, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 offers improved photography, durability, and enhanced user experience. It is priced starting at £1,699, with Apple’s foldable iPhone expected to be more expensive upon release.

In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, resembling the previous Fold 7 but featuring significant upgrades in camera technology and performance. The device includes a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP telephoto camera for superior photography and video capabilities.

With a new Flex Titanium hinge and a refined display structure, the Fold 8 Ultra promises reduced creasing and smoother unfolding. It houses a 5,000mAh battery for extended usage and quick charging, starting at £1,899.

Completing the lineup is the Galaxy Z Flip 8, maintaining Samsung’s popular clamshell design while becoming thinner and lighter. Enhancements include a stronger aluminium hinge, improved external display, faster performance, and upgraded camera features, priced from £1,149.
