During this festive season, many of us enjoy treating ourselves and our loved ones to tins of chocolates. However, prices seem to be on the rise this year. A recent trip to the supermarket revealed that Cadbury Roses and Heroes 700g tins are being sold for £16.50 each, which is quite steep compared to previous years.
Although there is a slight discount available for Nectar cardholders, bringing the price down to £10, it still remains a significant investment. For those looking for more budget-friendly options, Sainsbury’s offers Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Mixed Chunks Tin (60g) for £9.59 or £6.50 with a Nectar card, and Quality Street 750g tin for £13 or £8.50 with Nectar.
Additionally, shoppers can find tubs of Celebrations, Heroes, and Quality Street ranging from 500g to 550g for just £6 each. For even better deals, Tesco is currently selling similar tubs for as low as £3.95 with a Clubcard, compared to the usual price of £4.50.
Furthermore, Tesco offers the same Heroes tin priced at £7.50 with a Clubcard, significantly lower than Sainsbury’s price. In a recent report, it was noted that Asda offers standard tubs of Heroes, Roses, and Celebrations for under £5, while Morrisons sells them for £7 or £5.50 with a Morrisons More Card.
Notably, Celebrations and Quality Street tubs are priced at £3.95 with a Clubcard at Tesco, and Roses and Heroes are available for £7 or £5.25 with a Clubcard. Aldi and Lidl are also selling tubs for less than £5. Marks and Spencer and Waitrose do not stock traditional tubs online, but offer smaller pouch-sized packets and alternative festive chocolates priced between approximately £4 and £10.
