Nigel Farage has disclosed earning more than £1 million from secondary occupations following the general election, marking the first time he has revealed his income since May.
As the Member of Parliament for Clacton, Farage holds the record for the highest number of paid sources of income among House of Commons members. His latest entry in the Register of Members Financial Interests brings his tally of “secondary jobs” to 12.
Analysis of the Register by the Reach Data Unit shows that these roles have generated an estimated £1.2 million for Farage since the July 2024 general election. This amount surpasses the earnings of the next top MP, former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who declared £587,000 post-election.
Among Farage’s most profitable roles are serving as a presenter at GB News (£511,000), acting as a brand ambassador for Direct Bullion (£281,000), and creating videos for Cameo (£171,000). This recent declaration in the register marks the first time Farage has disclosed his supplementary income since the Spring.
During this period, Farage acquired an additional £189,000 from extra work, including almost £26,000 from speaking engagements with Imperial Independent Media and £168,000 from his presenting role at GB News.
Members of Parliament are required to report income from secondary jobs within 28 days of receipt. However, several of Farage’s recent payments were reported after this deadline.
For instance, a payment of £43,491 from GB News on July 31 was not registered until October 3. Similarly, three payments totaling £26,000 from Imperial Independent Media on May 8, May 19, and June 10 were also not registered until October 3.
Rishi Sunak follows closely as the second-highest earning MP based on the Register, having declared over £587,000 in additional income since the election. Sir Geoffrey Cox follows with over £559,000, George Freeman with £208,000, Sir Jeremy Hunt with nearly £186,000, and Nick Timothy with over £181,000 in additional income.
