Three individuals lost their lives in separate traffic accidents in Quebec overnight. In the first incident around 12:30 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a location off Route 132 East, near Chemin Mistral, in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse, as a vehicle had swerved off the road. The driver, a 35-year-old man who was the sole occupant, tragically perished at the scene due to apparent loss of vehicle control. The road closure ensued but was reopened by approximately 4:45 a.m.
Subsequently, at about 3:20 a.m., emergency services attended a single-vehicle crash on Route 138 near Franquelin. The Quebec Provincial Police (SQ) reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in injuries to all four occupants. Regrettably, one individual succumbed to their injuries, while the remaining three are in critical condition, fighting for their lives. A section of the road was closed following this incident.
Lastly, at 6 a.m., authorities responded to a third car accident on Route 138 in Saint-Tite-des-Caps. The SQ disclosed that the driver of the eastbound-traveling vehicle seemingly veered out of the lane, leading to a rollover after losing control. Two occupants, a man and a woman in their thirties, sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital. Tragically, the 37-year-old woman passed away at the medical facility, while the man remains in critical condition.
The incidents resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, prompting investigations into the circumstances surrounding each tragic event.
