A woman has been convicted of killing a three-year-old boy in a tragic incident at a supermarket parking lot. The attack occurred at a Giant Eagle store in North Olmstead, Ohio, where Julian Wood and his mother, Margot Wood, were viciously assaulted by Bionca Ellis. Despite immediate medical attention, Julian did not survive the stab wounds he sustained, while Margot survived and is now working on rebuilding her life after the traumatic event in June 2024.
The assailant, Ellis, took two knives from a nearby thrift store and used them in the attack on the mother and child. Following a ten-day trial, Ellis, from Cleveland, was found guilty on multiple charges, including aggravated murder, felonious assault, child endangerment, and aggravated theft. She has been in custody on a $5 million bond since her indictment last year.
Ellis, who has a history of schizophrenia, pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. A witness, Travis Bush, testified that when questioned about her actions, Ellis simply shrugged in response. Following the verdict, Mrs. Wood and Jared Wood, the toddler’s father, expressed gratitude to the community for its support during the challenging time.
