A man who experienced a temporary cessation of heartbeat claimed to have a spiritual encounter where he transcended his physical body and encountered Jesus, who instructed him to return to Earth. Chase Skylar DeMayo, who had been rigorously preparing for his Air Force role, collapsed suddenly and was discovered unconscious.
Following his collapse, the 38-year-old was swiftly taken to a medical facility where he underwent X-rays and blood examinations. Despite appearing healthy, Chase’s vision blurred unexpectedly, and he recollected hovering in mid-air, welcomed by a familiar presence and voice.
Recalling the moment, Chase stated, “As alarms sounded around me, a soothing voice reassured me that everything would be fine, and I felt only peace. Observing my physical form from above, I ascended in a swirling motion, enveloped by light, angels, laughter, and melodious sounds like chiming bells.”
“I found myself in a vibrant garden with colors more vivid than anything on Earth. There, I encountered Jesus in a different form than commonly depicted, with curly brown hair, green eyes, and a warm smile.”
“He was interacting with a child resembling a younger, more joyful version of myself. We connected without speaking, and he directed me to return and spread love, laughter, light, and joy. He reminded me of my true purpose on Earth beyond daily challenges. Regardless of my past, I possessed a brightness to pursue and share.”
At the time of his collapse, Chase, aged 19, was alone. He had felt unwell earlier that day, and it was later revealed that an air embolism had entered his IV line at the hospital, leading to cardiac arrest and subsequent flatlining.
Upon regaining consciousness, Chase found himself detached from the various life-support machines, and remarkably, his heart functioned as if nothing had transpired. Reflecting on the experience, he remarked, “I was discharged promptly, with examinations showing no lasting harm. However, I vividly remembered everything. I remained fully conscious, and the initial pain transformed into tranquility.”
“While there was an element of surprise, there was no fear of death. It was serene and beautiful, akin to a refreshing coolness leaving my chest. Initially reluctant to depart from the garden, I comprehended that my purpose was not yet fulfilled.”
Pronounced dead for a brief period, Chase now claims to possess an ability to sense others’ emotions and experiences a tingling sensation in his palms when communicating with God or Jesus. Additionally, he asserts the capacity to heal through touch alone.
Eventually, he retired from his job due to medical reasons and recently completed a doctorate in holistic counseling with the intention of guiding individuals towards their life’s mission.
He expressed, “This experience has transformed my perspective entirely. I pursue forgotten joys and carry a daily reminder to live purposefully, seeking light even in dark moments. I feel thankful and renewed.
“For years, I concealed this revelation to elude being labeled, yet now I view it as a gift that redirected my path. I no longer fear death and embrace the fragility of life. I continue to communicate with Jesus, angels, and find solace in the unknown.”
