Norris only needed a third-place finish at the Yas Marina Circuit to clinch the title, maintaining his 12-point lead over Verstappen. Despite initially losing second place to his teammate Piastri, Norris managed to secure his position on the podium.
During the race, Charles Leclerc posed a late threat to Norris, but his Ferrari’s pace dropped off, allowing Norris a clear path to victory. Overwhelmed with emotion, Norris expressed his gratitude to his team over the radio, thanking them for making his dreams a reality.
After stepping out of his car, Norris shared emotional moments with his parents and girlfriend Corceiro. Their public acknowledgment of their rekindled relationship this season has drawn attention to F1 drivers’ partners, with Corceiro having been in the public eye for several years.
Following the Singapore Grand Prix, where partners were prominently featured on screen, Norris’ former teammate Carlos Sainz criticized the focus on WAGs during broadcasts. In response, Corceiro emphasized that she does not seek out camera attention and is often unaware of being recorded.
