Kelly Clarkson is facing a costly escalation in her dispute with a Brooklyn store over a mechanical bird, with the shop now listing the bird, named “Molly,” for a staggering $15 million. The co-owner of Art of Play, Adam Rubin, made this decision amidst the ongoing public clash with the pop star. Should someone purchase the bird, Rubin has promised to reward each shop employee with $15,000 and pay the creator, Bliss Kolb, $1 million. The remaining funds would be used to acquire other antique automata.

CBC News has attempted to contact Art of Play for confirmation but has not received a response. This development marks a significant increase from the $15,000 price tag that Clarkson reportedly saw during her visit to the store on October 10.

Rubin, speaking from the Art of Play premises, noted a surge in foot traffic due to the controversy but also voiced concerns over negative feedback from Clarkson’s fans. He expressed worry for the safety of the shop’s staff, attributing the situation to Clarkson’s actions.

Video footage captured Clarkson’s visit to the store on October 13, showing her perusing items before engaging with a store clerk and eventually leaving without making a purchase.

The conflict began when Clarkson claimed on social media that she felt judged during her visit to the store, likening the experience to a scene from “Pretty Woman.” In response, Art of Play clarified that the bird Clarkson inquired about was not for sale but offered alternative options. The situation escalated with Clarkson accusing the store of dishonesty and rudeness.

The dispute has sparked intense online debate, with users weighing in on social media platforms. Some have emphasized the importance of fair treatment in retail settings, while others have questioned the perspectives of both Clarkson and the shop owners in the ongoing saga.
