Jack P Shepherd has revealed that he was aware of his loss to Steve McFadden at the National Television Awards even before the official announcement. The actors from popular TV shows Coronation Street and EastEnders were competing for the Best Serial Drama Performance award.

Steve McFadden, known for his role as Phil Mitchell on the BBC soap, clinched his first NTA win, surpassing nominees Jack, Jacqueline Jossa, Emmerdale’s Eden Taylor-Draper, and Sue Devaney from Corrie. Despite observers noting Jack’s apparent disappointment at the outcome, he clarified that his reaction was misunderstood.

During his podcast “On The Sofa with Colson, Jack and Ben,” the 37-year-old actor shared that the cameras signaled the winner before the announcement, indicating he had not won. Jack humorously discussed the various facial expressions actors adopt when they lose awards.

Jack, who recently married Hanni Treweek, celebrated their nuptials with a honeymoon in Italy. They got engaged in Tanzania last summer and exchanged vows at Manchester Cathedral. Colson Smith, Jack’s Corrie co-star, served as his best man.

The couple then enjoyed their honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast, sharing glimpses of their trip on Instagram. Jack posted videos of their scenic views and light-hearted moments during their getaway.
