In the early morning of March 2, 2024, 23-year-old Jack O’Sullivan left a gathering in Bristol with the plan to hail a cab back home where he lived with his parents. Following a night of fun with friends, Jack, like many other young adults across the country that evening, never reached home.

Now, 18 months later, Jack’s family remains in the dark with no leads but remains steadfast in their search efforts. Over 100,000 individuals have joined the Find Jack campaign on Facebook, raising over £59,000 for the search. Recently, a mysterious benefactor offered a £100,000 reward, yet Jack’s whereabouts remain unknown.

After informing his parents via text at 1 am that he would be taking a taxi, Jack was last seen on CCTV walking towards Brunel Lock Way and Brunel Way at 3.17 am, then heading back towards Hotwells at 3.40 am. Despite this, his phone signaled his presence in the Granby Hill area at 5.40 am. However, his phone was never recovered.

Despite extensive searches by authorities and volunteers, no significant clues have emerged regarding Jack’s disappearance. His mother, Catherine, likened the lack of evidence to a scenario where “Jack has been abducted by an alien.” The family has criticized the police for mishandling the initial search efforts, including missing crucial CCTV footage and delayed registration on the Missing People’s Register.

Avon and Somerset Police have defended their investigation methods, stating they have pursued various leads, engaged multiple police teams and experts, and conducted thorough searches with no success. Catherine expressed frustration over the police’s assumptions about Jack’s disappearance due to the area where he was last seen and the belief that he had fallen into the river.

A recent development in the case involved an anonymous donor granting the family a £100,000 reward for information leading to Jack’s reunion with his family. Jack’s older brother, Ben, expressed gratitude for the donation, hoping it would shed light on Jack’s whereabouts. Friends of Jack described him as kind, funny, and loyal, expressing their deep longing for his return.

Catherine reminisced about Jack’s promising academic achievements before his disappearance and the devastation of his absence. The family’s complaints prompted an internal review by Avon and Somerset Police, resulting in corrective actions and acknowledgments of mishandling certain aspects of the investigation. Assistant Chief Constable Joanne Hall praised the officers’ dedication despite the case’s complexities.

Anyone with relevant information regarding Jack’s disappearance is urged to contact the provided channels for assistance. The family remains hopeful for answers and continues their unwavering efforts to find Jack, a beloved young man dearly missed by all who knew him.
