Strictly Come Dancing participant Balvinder Sopal required immediate medical attention following an injury sustained during rehearsals for the upcoming BBC dance show premiere.

The 46-year-old EastEnders actress, set to compete on the show’s launch this weekend, shared in an Instagram video that she experienced a discomforting incident while practicing, saying, “Something popped, and I’m here to determine the cause.”

Despite the mishap, Balvinder expressed admiration for the show’s professional dancers, calling them “superhuman” and describing her experience as the most challenging she has faced. Following a check-up with the physiotherapist, she confirmed her return to training, assuring fans she is feeling “all good.”

Balvinder, best known for her role as Suki Panesar on EastEnders, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and messages of encouragement. She stressed her excitement for participating in Strictly Come Dancing, a dream she held onto without any certainty of it materializing.

In a similar vein, another contestant, Vicky Pattison, highlighted her struggles during rehearsals, sharing images of a painful toe blister on social media. Despite the challenges, she expressed gratitude for the camaraderie with fellow dancers and crew, emphasizing her honor to be part of the show.

The new series of Strictly Come Dancing, featuring a lineup of celebrities including Dani Dyer, Chris Robshaw, Thomas Skinner, Ross King, and Vicky Pattison, is set to premiere on BBC One this Saturday.
