Bryan Seaver, who is known as Dolly Parton’s nephew and has been responsible for her security for a long time, is currently involved in a highly publicized legal dispute with the estate management company of the iconic singer.

The core of the conflict seems to revolve around financial matters, as reported by Forbes. Dolly Parton, whose passing due to cancer was announced on August 25, was estimated to have a net worth of $450 million US. Despite not having children with her late husband Carl Dean, Parton had a sizeable family comprising 11 siblings, six of whom are still alive, along with at least 12 nephews and nieces, as detailed by People magazine.

The management entity overseeing and safeguarding Dolly Parton’s estate is referred to as She’s Alive, LLC, and is under the leadership of her longtime manager, Danny Nozell. The estate has taken legal action against Seaver, the family member chosen by Parton to announce her passing.

Seaver was relieved of his security duties at Dolly Parton’s properties, including Dollywood, last month and instructed to promptly vacate the premises. The termination letter obtained by TMZ indicates that Seaver and his team were directed to leave the properties immediately for the overall protection of the Trust and beneficiaries, although his personal interests in the estate were not terminated.

Following these events, She’s Alive initiated a lawsuit and secured a temporary restraining order against Seaver. Court documents filed by Danny Nozell, Parton’s former manager, allege that Seaver posed as an international arms dealer and leveraged his military background to intimidate Nozell into providing financial support. Seaver has denied these allegations, attributing them to emotional conversations in a time of grief.

A Tennessee judge ruled on September 23 that Seaver and his company posed a present and ongoing disruption and threat to She’s Alive. Despite the legal battles, Dolly Parton’s sister Freida has clarified on Facebook that there is no estate dispute within their family, emphasizing their mutual support and love for each other.

The developments continue as Seaver requested a delay in a court hearing scheduled for October 9, citing difficulties in securing legal representation. She’s Alive opposed this motion and presented evidence of Seaver’s attempts to avoid legal service, including displaying a no-trespassing sign and barbed wire at his residence. Seaver’s upcoming hearing is set for October 20, with uncertainties remaining about his legal representation.
