This afternoon, Windsor Castle echoed with applause as the Red Arrows performed a stunning show to commemorate the second state visit of US President Donald Trump to the UK. However, in contrast, folk punk artist and activist Billy Bragg expressed discontent over Trump’s visit through a fiery social media post.

Before President Trump’s arrival in the UK, Bragg shared details of a ‘Trump Not Welcome’ demonstration scheduled at London’s Portland Place. The event was set to coincide with a private lunch between President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and senior members of the royal family.

In a post dated September 15, Bragg, a native of Essex, labeled the state visit as a “moment of national humiliation” and warned against appeasing bullies, stating that it only emboldens them. He invited his followers to join the Stop Trump rally in Parliament Square to demonstrate opposition to Trump’s presence and the influence of his politics on the UK.

Today, Bragg, aged 67, addressed the crowd at Parliament Square, performing his protest song “Hundred Year Hunger” and emphasizing that President Trump could resolve the Gaza conflict with a single word. The rally featured various speakers and was restricted to Parliament Square and Whitehall due to public order conditions.

Simultaneously, Channel 4 criticized President Trump, pledging to expose his falsehoods during the State Visit. Ian Katz, Channel 4’s chief content officer, announced special coverage that would showcase what they believed to be the longest uninterrupted broadcast of Trump’s lies, aiming to highlight the dangers of a leader who disregards the truth.

The program, titled “Trump V The Truth,” was set to reveal 100 falsehoods, distortions, and inaccuracies made by President Trump during his tenure.
