Apple has had a busy week, unveiling a range of new products including the iPhone 17e, upgraded iPad Air, and new MacBook Pro models with the latest M5 processors. Now, the tech giant has introduced the MacBook Neo, a budget-friendly laptop priced at just £599, making it the most affordable Mac ever.
Featuring a colorful design and a high-resolution 13-inch screen, the MacBook Neo is powered by Apple’s A18 Pro-series smartphone processor. While not as fast as M-powered PCs, it is capable of meeting everyday digital needs with ease. Running on macOS, the laptop offers access to popular applications such as Microsoft Word, Pages, and iMovie.
The MacBook Neo boasts impressive battery life, lasting over 15 hours on a single charge. It includes two USB-C ports but lacks MagSafe charging. Additionally, it comes equipped with a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, Touch ID fingerprint scanner, dual side-firing speakers supporting Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, a Magic Keyboard, and a Multi-Touch trackpad.
Available in Silver, Indigo, Blush, and Citrus colors, the MacBook Neo can be pre-ordered now and will be in stores next week. Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, expressed excitement about the new laptop, emphasizing its affordability, performance, and unique features, stating that it represents a one-of-a-kind offering in the market.
