The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for 15 areas in the UK, advising residents to prepare emergency kits. Tomorrow, parts of Wales are expected to experience heavy rainfall, with up to 70mm predicted in certain regions.

The first warning covers areas from Cardiff to Tenby and up to Merthyr Tydfill, lasting from 6am to 11pm. Southwest Wales will see persistent and heavy rain throughout the day, with an expected rainfall of 30 to 40mm, reaching up to 50 to 70mm in the most affected areas.

Residents are urged by the Met Office to assess the risk of flooding to their property and prepare flood plans and emergency kits. Items such as torches, batteries, a mobile phone power pack, and other essentials are recommended to be included in the kit.

In north-west Wales, a second warning is in place from 3am to 12pm, with 30 to 40mm of rain expected widely and up to 50 to 60mm within six hours in certain areas. The forecast for Wednesday indicates heavy rain in the western UK, gradually becoming drier and brighter in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and northern England.

Unsettled conditions are forecasted for the weekend, with continued rain and wind expected. The following week will also see rains, showers, and strong winds across the country. The Met Office anticipates a northwest-southeast weather divide, with potential for drier spells in the north and northwest, along with colder temperatures.

Overall, the weather pattern is expected to become more settled towards the end of the period, with high pressure influencing conditions and temperatures returning closer to average.
