McLaren has officially clinched consecutive Formula 1 constructors’ championships, matching a record set by Red Bull with six rounds remaining in the 2025 season. The team’s dominance throughout the season was evident as they entered the Singapore Grand Prix with a commanding 333-point lead over Mercedes. Securing just 13 points would seal the title for McLaren, making it achievable with a single driver on the podium.
During the Grand Prix, Lando Norris outperformed his teammate Oscar Piastri to finish third, securing a combined 27 points for McLaren. Despite George Russell’s victory and Kimi Antonelli’s strong performance, McLaren’s lead was insurmountable for Mercedes.
Celebrating their 10th constructors’ championship success in F1 history, McLaren now ranks second on the all-time list, surpassing Williams. Team principal Andrea Stella expressed a different sentiment compared to their 2024 victory, acknowledging the early realization of their car’s competitiveness in the current season.
McLaren’s focus remains on maximizing their potential in each race rather than chasing the all-time points record set by Red Bull in 2023. Stella emphasized the importance of taking it one race at a time and ensuring peak performance at every stage.
