The beloved superhero Spider-Man is currently making history in the entertainment industry. “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the fastest film to surpass the $700-million mark at the North American box office, achieving this milestone in just 13 days. This accomplishment puts it in an elite category, as only seven movies in North America have ever achieved this milestone, with notable films like “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Avengers: Endgame” taking 16 days to reach the same milestone.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” a collaborative effort between Marvel and Sony, features Tom Holland in his fourth portrayal of Peter Parker. Alongside him is his real-life partner, Zendaya, and other popular Marvel Cinematic Universe actors like Jon Bernthal, Florence Pugh, Mark Ruffalo, and newcomer Sadie Sink. The storyline follows Peter Parker’s struggles as he navigates a world where his alter ego, Spider-Man, has been forgotten, leading to an emotional and power-imbalance journey in New York City.

This latest Spider-Man installment continues to soar to new heights, not only grossing $704.5 million in North America but also raking in $1.108 billion globally after just two weekends in theaters, surpassing its predecessor “No Way Home.” The movie has set various records, including beating “Avengers: Endgame” for the biggest domestic opening weekend, achieving the highest-grossing first week in domestic box office history, and becoming the second-fastest film to reach $1 billion globally, following closely behind “Avengers: Endgame.”

Additionally, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has been hailed as Sony’s highest-grossing release in 26 international markets. The film’s success has sparked discussions about its darker tone, with questions arising about whether it strikes the right balance in its narrative and character development.
