Reality TV personality Lauren Goodger has issued a cautionary message to her followers after undergoing surgery this week. The “The Only Way is Essex” star disclosed today that she is currently awaiting the results of a biopsy post her recent medical procedure.

Lauren, aged 39, disclosed that she had three moles removed at a hospital in Essex. Emphasizing that one of the moles had a “deep rooted” nature, she mentioned that it has been sent for analysis at a lab, urging her fans to also monitor their own moles.

The former “Celebrity Big Brother” contestant shared the updates on her Instagram account. Initially, she posted a selfie donning a medical gown while lying in a hospital bed, without divulging specific details but tagging the hospital in the post.

Later on, she hinted at having undergone a surgical procedure and issued a caution, indicating that her next post might contain images of cuts, blood, and stitches. In her post, she warned: “WARNING Caution .. Next slide skip if you don’t like cuts or blood or stitches.”

Subsequently, she shared a photo displaying a blue sheet with visible bloodstains. The sheet revealed stitches over an incision on her skin, with Lauren elaborating on the surgery in the accompanying caption.

Addressing her followers, she stated that three moles were removed during the procedure, highlighting that the photo captured the removal of a “deep rooted” mole. Lauren also pointed out that changes in her moles occurred during her pregnancy.

She initiated the caption with: “I’ve had 3 moles removed, this one was cut out and removed as was deep rooted being sent off to the lab.” Encouraging others to conduct regular mole checks, she added: “So important so check your moles.”

Concluding her message, she reflected on her sun exposure habits and the mole changes during pregnancy, expressing relief that the moles have been removed, hinting at more potential removals in the future, with results and stitches removal scheduled in two weeks.

Lauren joins the ranks of celebrities advocating for mole monitoring among fans. Recently, Love Island star Zara McDermott also emphasized the importance of skin cancer screening, advising followers to conduct regular body checks.

According to the NHS, the emergence of a new mole or alterations in an existing one “may be signs of melanoma,” a form of skin cancer, especially common in sun-exposed areas. Regular mole assessments are crucial, as exposure to UV light from the sun can elevate the risk of mole-related cancer. Individuals with numerous moles are advised to exercise extra caution in sun exposure to mitigate risks.
