Busted’s Matt Willis recently expressed his admiration for bandmate James Bourne once again as James had to step back from the group’s ongoing tour due to health concerns. The announcement of James’ withdrawal from the concerts was made earlier this month, citing his health as the reason.
James, aged 42, disclosed that his health was not adequate to join fellow bandmates Matt, 42, and Charlie Simpson, 40, on the Busted vs McFly tour just before it kicked off in Birmingham. His absence led to the inclusion of his brother Chris Bourne as his replacement for the tour.
During a recent show at the OVO Arena Wembley, Matt addressed James’ absence, expressing love and appreciation for him in front of the audience. He shared that James insisted they continue with the shows despite his absence, leading them to recruit another guitarist to fill his spot.
Charlie humorously mentioned that James specified anyone could replace him except for McFly members. Eventually, Chris Bourne, who had appeared in the “Year 3000” music video, was introduced as the new guitarist, receiving cheers from the crowd.
Matt had similarly conveyed a heartfelt message about James’ absence at the tour’s first concert, emphasizing their support and missing him on stage. James himself expressed regret over not being able to perform due to health issues, ensuring fans that he aims to return in the future.
