Pupils in the vicinity of schools are being cautioned to remain vigilant in light of several reported incidents of attempted abductions. One such event took place near Congleton High School in Cheshire, where a grey Audi SUV was spotted approaching students at a bus stop near the school gates. The school has responded by increasing staff patrols as students leave for the day.

The occurrence, which occurred at 3:40 pm on September 17, is part of a series of ‘attempted abduction’ incidents in the region. Notably, two incidents in Northwich involved individuals allegedly trying to lure boys into their vehicles while they were walking alone. Authorities have clarified that the incidents in Congleton and Northwich are not linked.

In a letter addressed to parents, Congleton High School highlighted the recent reports of abduction attempts in neighboring areas. They specifically mentioned the incident involving a grey Audi SUV approaching students at the Sandbach Road bus stop and their proactive engagement with the police.

The school administration also emphasized the heightened vigilance of duty staff at the end of the school day, ensuring patrols until the bus departure. They stressed the importance of parental awareness and cooperation in promoting safety measures both within and outside the school premises.

Students will receive guidance from tutors on recognizing potential dangers and reporting any suspicious activities. Parents are encouraged to discuss the risks of interacting with strangers during their children’s commute to and from school.

Regarding the Congleton incident, Cheshire Police confirmed an incident involving a 13-year-old boy approached by a teenager in a vehicle while walking along Sandbach Road. Following investigations, a 17-year-old boy was identified and advised accordingly, with no further legal action taken.

In Northwich, two separate incidents involving suspicious activity towards teenage boys were reported. Police are actively investigating these occurrences and have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.
