Police are currently investigating the tragic death of a young boy who was fatally attacked by two Rottweiler dogs. The incident took place in Valdosta, Georgia, United States, where two-year-old Kaimir Jones was under the care of an unlicensed nursery provider named Stacy Wheeler Cobb.
Kaimir’s mother, Adrianna Jones, entrusted her son to Cobb’s care, but on the day of the incident, Kaimir was the only child present at the facility. Cobb reportedly left Kaimir unattended while she took a nap, assuming that the child was also resting.
During this unsupervised period, Kaimir managed to wander into the yard where the two Rottweilers were kept in a kennel. Tragically, the dogs attacked and fatally injured him before emergency services could intervene.
Following the devastating attack, Cobb was apprehended by law enforcement and charged with second-degree cruelty to children and second-degree murder. In response to this heartbreaking loss, Adrianna initiated a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for Kaimir’s memorial service. The campaign has garnered over $32,774 (£24,472) of its $40,000 (£29,867) goal.
In a poignant statement on the fundraising page, Adrianna shared her emotional experience of discovering the tragic event at the daycare center. She expressed her devastation over the loss of her son and emphasized the need for community support to cover the expenses for his funeral.
Chief Leslie Manahan of the Valdosta Police Department condemned the incident as a preventable tragedy caused by negligence, resulting in the devastating loss of a child. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Kaimir’s death is ongoing.
