The onset of autumn brings a new wave of excitement with the unfolding drama of weddings in the air! Renowned figure Emma Barnes from “Married At First Sight” shares her insights on the weekly happenings of the E4 show exclusively for the Mirror.

Welcome to my weekly column! It’s a privilege to share my thoughts on the arrival of autumn in the UK. As the nights grow darker, filled with dramatic dinner parties, and amidst the chaos of our dating lives, MAFS is making a comeback!

The initial episodes have set a brisk pace with the show’s new format, alternating between weddings and honeymoons. To break the monotony of repetitive weddings, some couples could benefit from a change like Mel, Charlene, and Paul heading off to the honeymoons.

The current cast appears to be a more composed and kind-hearted group compared to previous seasons, at least for now. The inclusion of two same-sex couples is commendable, and Nelly seems like an instant best friend material.

In the recent episodes, Davide and Keye’s wedding was a touching affair, while Sarah’s desire for a “bad boy” led to an awkward acapella performance by her new husband. Additionally, Grace’s friend offered valuable lessons on feminism.

Entering into this experiment with high expectations can lead to disappointment, as emotions run high. Tears were shed by two brides post-vows, and Sarah found herself with a husband quite different from her usual type. Dean’s gentle demeanor clashes with Sarah’s expectations of a more assertive partner.

Grace anticipated an instant connection, but it might take time to develop. Women, in my experience, are more open to getting to know someone beyond initial sparks. It’s a refreshing change from the usual preference for physical attractiveness in relationships.

The appeal of the show lies in its twists, character growth, and unexpected outcomes. Even the happiest couples face challenges, and what may start as tears could transform into a deep connection by Christmas. With more weddings to come, buckle up, settle in on the sofa, and enjoy the ride with a glass of wine and some snacks.

P.S. Taking out the bins is not my favorite task – definitely a job for a boyfriend!
