A woman who escaped from her home as a teenager has recently become engaged to a police officer who was part of the search team looking for her over a decade ago. Roshin Ali left her residence in Jackson, Tennessee, at 13 years old due to fears of her father’s violence. Tyler Schrupp, then 26 and a member of the police force, joined the efforts to locate her.

Despite Roshin returning home the next day, ending the search, Tyler never had the chance to meet her. Twelve years later, they crossed paths when Roshin started working at the local sheriff’s department, leading to a reconnection as colleagues.

Now 28, Roshin shared that Tyler was initially captivated by her but hesitated to approach her due to her beauty. As they bonded and Roshin disclosed her past trauma, Tyler realized his involvement in the search upon piecing together the details shared by his colleague.

Their relationship blossomed, culminating in an engagement in August last year and the birth of a five-month-old son. Roshin gained online attention after posting a TikTok video where she humorously highlighted their distinct lifestyles. In response to critics alleging grooming, Roshin refuted the claims and revealed the harrowing events she endured in her youth.

Recounting an incident from 2010, Roshin described how her father, a gambling addict, posed a threat to her and her siblings, prompting their escape to a park. Subsequently, her parents were detained, and Roshin and her siblings were placed in foster care. She emphasized the pivotal role of the police in ensuring their safety, crediting her soon-to-be husband as her savior. Planning to tie the knot next year, Roshin expressed gratitude for the officers’ intervention that she believes saved their lives.
