Following a series of heart attacks, a man out for a health walk was violently assaulted with kung fu-style kicks to the face in a Morrison’s parking lot, prompting a police search for the assailant.

Chris Mcnamara recounted that while checking his bank balance at a cash machine outside a supermarket in Gosport, Hampshire, he was attacked by an individual dressed in dark attire and sandals, who initially engaged in a verbal exchange before turning physically aggressive and delivering multiple kicks to Chris’ face.

Photographs of the aftermath show Chris with a bruised and swollen right eye, a result of what he described as a karate-style attack.

Chris immediately contacted Hampshire Police, who escorted him to Gosport War Memorial Hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. Despite being discharged later, Chris expressed feeling fearful for his safety and is now cooperating with the police investigation.

Recounting the incident, Chris, a resident of Gosport, emphasized the importance of daily walks for his health due to his history of heart issues. He described encountering the attacker at the supermarket entrance, noting the individual’s intoxicated state and aggressive behavior following a misunderstanding.

According to Chris, the assailant, described as tall and slim with a shaved head, continued to follow and assault him, causing further injuries and distress. Chris sought refuge at a nearby store while awaiting emergency services.

Chris detailed the physical injuries sustained, including facial bruising and rib pain, expressing gratitude for not suffering any fractures despite his pre-existing heart conditions. His sister, Sarah Armitage, condemned the attack as unprovoked and expressed shock and anger at the extent of Chris’ injuries.

In response to the incident, Hampshire Police launched an investigation and appealed for witnesses to come forward to aid in identifying the perpetrator. Descriptions of the suspect were provided, urging anyone with relevant information to contact the authorities.
