Keir Starmer commended the police force following his viewing of body-worn camera footage from the recent terror attack at a synagogue in Manchester. Accompanied by his wife, Lady Victoria, the Prime Minister met with officers from Greater Manchester Police, expressing his utmost confidence in their swift and professional response, which he described as top-notch.

The tragic incident, orchestrated by terrorist Jihad Al-Shamie, resulted in the deaths of worshippers Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66. One victim succumbed to gunshot wounds after armed police intervened on the morning following the attack.

During his visit to Greater Manchester Police headquarters, the PM acknowledged the challenges faced by the officers in managing the unfolding events in real-time and commended their high level of professionalism and efficiency in handling the situation.

Starmer condemned the attack as an act of terrorism aimed at instilling fear and targeting individuals based on their Jewish faith. He emphasized the importance of unity among people of all beliefs in supporting and standing in solidarity with the Jewish community, praising the ongoing efforts of the police in ensuring community safety.

The Prime Minister highlighted the pivotal role of law enforcement in averting a more severe outcome and expressed gratitude to all responders for their resolute actions.
