Strictly Come Dancing pro Dianne Buswell hints at potential names for her upcoming baby boy, after recently revealing her pregnancy. The 36-year-old Australian dancer, known for her role on the popular show, joyfully announced the news of expecting a child with her partner, 34-year-old Joe Sugg. Dianne is set to create history on Strictly as the first pregnant participant in the upcoming season.
The couple, who first met in 2018 during Joe’s appearance on the BBC program, took to Instagram to share their excitement with a cute illustration of themselves with a baby, captioned: “Our little baby boy. We can’t wait to meet you.”
During a podcast with comedian Chris McCausland, her former Strictly partner, Dianne playfully discussed potential baby names. Initially considering an unconventional name for a girl, they reconsidered their choice after discovering the baby’s gender.
Dianne amusingly mentioned her plan to sneak a preferred name onto the birth certificate, revealing, “I’m thinking of naming him Christopher Anton Craig Buswell-Sugg. Or maybe Christopher Craig Anton Buswell-Sugg, that’s still under consideration. Many have suggested calling the baby Chris.”
Her comments come after revealing her previous decision to delay family plans due to her demanding dance career. Dianne expressed her and Joe’s desire to have children, acknowledging the challenges of balancing her career and family aspirations.
Despite her pregnancy, Dianne continues to showcase her dancing skills on the current season of Strictly. She assured fans that she is maintaining her usual routines with a bit more caution, especially during lifts, following her doctor’s advice that her activities are safe to continue.
Don’t miss Dianne and Chris on the season premiere of Strictly tonight at 6.40pm on BBC One.
