Vivian Campbell, a member of the rock band Def Leppard, recently shared his journey of battling cancer, revealing that he embraced life fully following his diagnosis more than a decade ago. In 2013, Vivian, aged 63, disclosed that he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma, a rare form of cancer affecting the lymphatic system, as described by the NHS.

Since then, Vivian has undergone various treatments, including chemotherapy, over the past ten years. Earlier this year, after completing additional treatment, he happily announced that he is now in complete remission.

During a podcast interview with Fueled with Chris Cyr, Vivian reflected on his experience, mentioning how his perspective on life shifted post-diagnosis. He discussed making significant purchases, like buying an expensive Porsche, as a way of living in the moment amid the uncertainties of his health.

Expressing his faith in the universe, Vivian shared that he faced his cancer diagnosis with acceptance and a determination to continue living his life to the fullest. He acknowledged feeling fortunate that his cancer was caught early at stage two, allowing for close monitoring of his health over the years.

Vivian revealed that despite the challenges of treatments, including a failed stem cell transplant, he eventually opted for a donor transplant as a last resort. Following intense chemotherapy and a successful transplant, he received the news of being completely cancer-free for the first time in over a decade, bringing him immense joy and relief.

For those seeking support, the Macmillan Support Line offers confidential assistance to individuals dealing with cancer and their loved ones. Vivian’s story serves as a reminder of resilience and the importance of cherishing each moment in life.
