UFC sensation Paddy Pimblett is leading a fresh initiative to enhance mental well-being through the realm of mixed martial arts.

Pimblett, poised for a lightweight title opportunity next year, has been a vocal supporter of mental health causes. Following his victory over Jordan Leavitt in London in 2022, where he dedicated his win to a late friend lost to suicide, Pimblett launched The Baddy Foundation. The foundation aims to address food insecurity issues and combat the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.

In addition to his foundation work, Pimblett will take on the role of ambassador for UFC’s collaboration with OnSide. This partnership will deliver weekly seminars for young adults, focusing on fostering self-discipline, self-defense skills, confidence, coordination, and mental resilience under the guidance of expert mentors in a nurturing environment.

Reflecting on his upbringing in Liverpool and his journey to the UFC stage, Pimblett expressed his pride in supporting the program that offers young individuals in Wirral the opportunity to discover their passions, boost confidence, and realize their aspirations.

Jamie Masraff, CEO of OnSide, highlighted the positive impact of the UFC-OnSide collaboration in providing top-notch martial arts sessions for youth at various Youth Zones. The partnership will now expand to The Hive, emphasizing well-being support groups tailored to enhance mental health among young individuals, aligning with UFC’s dedication to supporting mental well-being.

Pimblett has candidly shared his personal struggles, emphasizing the importance of breaking the silence around men’s mental health issues. He urged men facing challenges to seek help and speak out, underlining the significance of open communication and support in combating mental health crises.
