A woman feared for her life when she was attacked by her friend’s pitbull terriers, narrowly escaping a fatal injury to her jugular vein. Crystal Ray, 42, was visiting her friend’s home when the dogs turned on her Corgi puppy, Jasper, prompting a frantic attempt to intervene. Despite her efforts to protect her pet, one of the pitbulls viciously bit her neck, causing severe injuries. Crystal, a truck driver, described the harrowing experience as akin to being cut by a “butter knife.”

Following the attack, Crystal was rushed to the hospital, where she required a blood transfusion and medical treatment for her wounds. Recalling the terrifying moment, she shared how she bravely fought off the dogs to save herself and her beloved pet, Jasper. Although Jasper managed to escape, Crystal faced further aggression from the pitbulls, sustaining additional injuries to her head and neck.

After spending three days in the hospital and undergoing necessary procedures, Crystal expressed gratitude for narrowly avoiding a life-threatening situation. Both pitbulls were euthanized following the incident. Crystal now faces a challenging recovery process, including physiotherapy for her neck injuries and coping with distressing nightmares.

In an effort to cover her medical expenses and recovery costs, Crystal has launched a GoFundMe campaign. She remains deeply affected by the ordeal, experiencing recurring nightmares and emotional distress. While saddened by the fate of the dogs responsible for the attack, Crystal acknowledges the severity of the situation and the potential risks posed to others if similar incidents were to occur.

For those interested in supporting Crystal and Jasper’s recovery, donations can be made through the GoFundMe page provided.
