Movie director Tim Burton and actress and model Monica Bellucci have decided to end their relationship, as confirmed in a joint statement. The former couple had been romantically involved since reuniting in October 2022, but rumors of their relationship had circulated even before they officially announced it in October 2023. After two years of being together, Tim and Monica have chosen to go their separate ways.

In a statement, the pair expressed their mutual respect and care for each other while announcing their decision to part ways. Tim Burton, known for directing “Edward Scissorhands,” was last seen publicly with Monica in June at the 71st Taormina Film Festival in Italy, where he affectionately kissed her on the cheek on stage.

Their relationship was publicly discussed by Monica in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar España in 2023, where she praised Tim’s spirit and described him as a remarkable individual. Monica had previously expressed her admiration and respect for Tim in interviews with Elle France.

Tim and Monica first met in 2006 at the Cannes Film Festival but did not pursue a romantic relationship as they were both committed elsewhere. Their romantic connection was reignited in 2022 at the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon, where Monica presented Tim with a lifetime achievement award.

During their time together, Tim, aged 67, and Monica, aged 60, collaborated on their first movie project, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” released the previous year. Monica, who portrayed Delores, the ex-wife of Michael Beetlejuice, shared her excitement about being part of Tim’s creative world before the movie premiere.

Prior to her relationship with Tim, Monica had been in a relationship with Nicolas Lefebvre until their separation in 2019. She was previously married to French actor Vincent Cassel from 1997 to 2013, with whom she shares two daughters, Deva and Leonie.

Tim Burton was previously married to actress Helena Bonham Carter, with whom he shares two children, Billy and Nell. The couple, who collaborated on multiple movies, ended their 13-year marriage in 2014. Helena had openly discussed the emotional toll of their separation in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, emphasizing the transformative impact of such a significant life change.
