Looking for a new iPhone at a discounted rate? Sky Mobile currently has a special offer on the iPhone 16e for just £17 per month with a £12 upfront fee. While this price does not cover calls, texts, or data, combining it with Sky’s SIM deals starting at £3 brings the total cost down to as low as £20 per month.

This deal is not exclusive to Sky Mobile, as other retailers like Mobiles.co.uk also offer the iPhone 16e for under £23, making it a competitive market for buyers.

For those interested, the iPhone 16e boasts a 6.1-inch display, A18 processor, single rear camera, wireless charging, Face ID security, and a durable glass-covered design.

As tempting as these offers may be, consumers should be aware that Apple recently announced the upcoming release of the iPhone 17e, featuring significant upgrades. The new model will include an improved A19 processor, a stronger Ceramic Shield design, a new Pink color option, and MagSafe compatibility for easy accessory attachment.

Moreover, the iPhone 17e will offer 256GB of internal storage, double the capacity of the 16e. Surprisingly, despite the enhanced features, the starting price for the iPhone 17e remains at £599, the same as its predecessor.

For those considering a contract purchase, Sky is offering the iPhone 17e starting from £19 per month, just £2 more than the 16e. This decision poses a dilemma between the budget-friendly 16e and the more advanced 17e model.

In our view, the additional features of the iPhone 17e, such as MagSafe and increased storage capacity, justify the slight increase in price. So, whether to go for the affordable iPhone 16e or invest a bit more for the upgraded 17e is a choice worth contemplating.
