Luke Littler, feeling annoyed, criticized a darts coach who questioned his participation in the World Youth Championship, calling him an ‘absolute helmet’. The 18-year-old competed in the tournament in Wigan recently but was defeated in the semi-finals by Beau Greaves, who later emerged as the winner.

Despite the criticism, Littler expressed his enjoyment of the event and praised Greaves, a remarkable three-time women’s world champion at only 21 years old. However, not everyone shared Littler’s sentiments, with former PDC Tour Card holder Cornwall expressing his disapproval.

On the Mission Darts Podcast, Cornwall voiced his strong opinion, describing Littler’s decision as ‘ridiculous’ and self-centered. He suggested that Littler should not have participated in the youth championship as a world champion, claiming it deprived others of the opportunity.

In response to Cornwall’s criticism, Littler took to Instagram, where he has a substantial following, to express his disdain for Cornwall’s remarks, labeling him as an ‘absolute helmet’ and emphasizing their lack of acquaintance.

Defending his decision to compete in the championship, Littler highlighted that it provided valuable experience and practice, similar to what professional players encounter. He also pointed out that other tour card holders participate in the same venue without facing similar scrutiny.

Not stopping there, Cornwall targeted Bunting in his critique, questioning the player’s positioning at the oche during matches. Cornwall suggested that Bunting’s stance hindered his consistency compared to players like Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries.
