Speedboat killer Jack Shepherd has been returned to prison over a year after his release from jail for the death of Charlotte Brown. Brown died in 2015 after being thrown from a speedboat on the River Thames. Shepherd, who had been drinking champagne with Brown, was convicted of manslaughter by gross negligence in 2018 after fleeing the UK.
Shepherd was recently imprisoned for breaching his release conditions. Authorities stated that offenders are promptly sent back to prison if they violate their parole terms. Brown’s father expressed satisfaction with Shepherd’s return to custody, emphasizing that Shepherd had not shown remorse for his actions.
In addition to his involvement in Brown’s death, Shepherd also received a concurrent four-year jail term for assaulting a barman in 2018. This incident took place at The White Hart Hotel in Newton Abbot, where Shepherd wounded a former soldier with a vodka bottle. Shepherd surrendered to authorities in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 2019 before being extradited back to the UK.
